Colin Edwards the 2000 WSBK Champ was 8th after a fall and a remount 2 and a half laps from the finish. He did however manage to get fastest lap during the race on lap 22.

Edwards said after wards in a press release \"The rear was lighting up every lap there but that lap it just let go, I tried my best to hang on but eventually fell,\" \"Once I\'d got the leaders in sight I was comfortable and was certain I could have won but that\'s the way it goes.
