Ducati fans will see the sparks flying again this weekend Troy Bayliss has set provisional pole position from Fridays qualifying, but better than that for the fans he likes the circuit.

The following comments are from a Ducati Corse press release.

\"This is a very tricky race-track with a lot of curves, some in rapid sequence,\" said Bayliss \"It\'s a physical track which you really need to be in shape for and it\'s ideal for me because I\'m feeling in perfect condition now. We worked a lot on bike set-up to improve the handling, as well as the choice of gear ratios. To tell the truth, I was quite surprised to be fastest today. I went well, but this is the result of all the work we did. I think that very few teams have got any reference data about this track, so going well immediately means that we\'re working in the right direction.\"

Troy Corser on his Aprilia is feeling confident after provisional no 2 placing \"We found a pretty good set-up quite soon today and then just tried making it better,\" said Corser. \" This track is a bit like Albacete or maybe Valencia. It\'s mostly second or third gear for me and a lot of time is spent with the bike leant over and the tyres spinning. The edges of the tyres get a really good work out here and of course that causes us problems. It\'s not a difficult track to learn, but there are one or two corners where time can be made up - if you find the right line through. There\'s not to many passing places, so it\'s going to be crucial getting a front (or maybe second) row grid position. At this track, you need to be out in front with the rest behind holding each other up.\"

Edwards and Slight are 3rd and fourth after the first session (for Slights comments see previous story).

Edwards has this to say. \"I\'m surprised,\" said Edwards. \"I thought this was going to be a struggle but the VTR is working well and the circuit is not as tight as I thought it was going to be

Ducati Infostrada\'s Juan Borja is back to fifth place on the provisional second row. He is at last making a showing for Ducati Infostrada team. Their press release quoted him \"The curves are particularly drawn-out and long, so I\'m working to get the best possible feeling with the front end, which is very important here. \"I also want to improve my speed in the two longest curves, where I\'m still a bit slow, while I\'m pretty fast in the \'Esses\'. Just a few more minor changes to the bike set-up and I\'ll be ready.\"
