Slight back to UK

With three rounds remaining in Aaron Slight\'s world superbike championship, the final event has changed venue.

The scheduled round 13 at Imola in Italy has been scrapped because of problems at the circuit.

A replacement will be held the same day, 15 October, at Brands Hatch in England where more than 100,000 people turned out earlier this month.

\"In some ways that\'s a bit of a bummer for us,\" said Slight, the 34-year-old Kiwi expat who has been recovering from brain surgery this year.

\"At every track we\'ve been to this year, the other teams know the settings that worked for their bike in the past whereas with our Castrol Honda being totally new we\'ve had to start from scratch.\"

\"Since Imola was a totally new track to superbikes we would all have started afresh.\"

\"But then again we have our settings from this month\'s round at Brands Hatch so we should be OK.\"

\"Plus I like Brands as a track, I\'ve had success there in the past, even though I crashed at Druids a couple of weeks ago.\"

Doing all he can to relax while maintaining a tough training regime, Slight remains optimistic about his own racing performance.

\"It\'s just a matter of continuing to focus on my recovery from the surgery,\" said the Masterton-born pro racer. \"I feel I\'m 90 percent right, but that last little bit makes all the difference out on the circuit.\"

\"I\'ll keep battling, eventually it must come right.\"

The next two events are at Assen in Holland 5 September and Oschersleben in Germany a week later.
