Kiwi comeback king Aaron Slight is uninjured after a crash in England.

The superbike ace, still recovering from brain surgery, crashed his Castrol Honda out of the second leg of his world championship event at Brands Hatch near London.

\"The clutch was slipping from the start and I was going too hard trying to make up the ground,\" explained the 34-year-old expat New Zealander.

\"It eventually caught me out going into Druids . I should have done the sensible thing and pulled in.\"

\"It\'s disappointing for me because I thought I might get a good result here.\"

Slight had picked up a 7th placing in the very hard fought first leg of the event which attracted more than 105,000 spectators.

\"I had a gearbox problem,\" he said after leg one. \"It just kept falling out of gear, I haven\'t a clue why it started doing that.\"

\"It was holding me up a lot, I\'m sure I could have finished a lot higher.\"

Australian Troy Bayliss and British wild card rider Neil Hodgson took a win each in this round 10 of the championship.

Slight\'s Castrol Honda teammate and series leader Colin Edwards extended his lead in the championship despite finishing sixth after nearest rival Troy Corser crashed out of the second leg.
