NEW R1s for REES

Current Open and 600cc Sports Production Champion Kawerau’s Tony Rees this week took delivery of his 2000-2001 season mounts.
Two 2000 model Yamaha R1s supplied by New Zealand’s Yamaha distributor Moller Yamaha.

One will be used by Rees to defend is Open Sports Production crown, which he has won five times.
“The Sports Production class is an important showcase for the industry, but the Superbike championship is the premier class for a rider. Last year we pulled off the 600cc and Open Sports Production double, it would be great do it again but with Open Sports Production and Superbikes.” says Rees

The other will be modified to bring it up to New Zealand Superbike specifications.
“I have never won the Superbike Championship, I’ve finished 2nd and 3rd. I would really like to add this to my collection” says REES.

The season is building up to be the best for many years. The four major Distributors are fielding race teams in both Sports Production and Superbikes, with the addition of the BSL 500cc Grand Prix team, which is improving with every out the 2000-2001 Motorcycle season will be one to watch.
