Hepburn Now Fifth in Xtreme Series

Posted: Mon 17 Jul 2000

Timaru’s John Hepburn was happy with his two tenths and two ninths at Sunday’s penultimate Round of the Australian Formula Xtreme Series at Lakeside near Brisbane.

Hepburn found Lakeside a lot tighter than he expected; he managed to manhandle the Hayabusa 1300cc around in 61.13 seconds, which put him on the third row of the grid.

“I am a bit disappointed but the Hayabusa is pretty good off the line. That’s the plan really, get off the line well and make sure we score some good points in the championship and have a safe day” said Hepburn.

Hepburn’s two tenths and two ninths gave him sufficient points to move from eight to fifth in the Series.
