The new version of the Modenas KR3 is looking to line up at the British GP on July 9th. Team Proton manager Chuck Aksland is having talks with Anthony Gobert, who lost his superbike ride when Bimota ran out of dollars. Gobert an Australian is his number one choice of riders, but Simon Crafer and Luca Cadalora are possible.

Gobert has raced for Kawasaki, Ducati, MuZ, Suzuki and Bimota. On the Bimota, he won one leg of the Aussie Superbike round earlier this year.

This season the two Modenas have been raced by Spaniard David de Gea,But his inexperience is showing through.

Team Owner Kenny Roberts said at last weekend\'s Dutch TT in Assen, Holland, where Gobert\'s name first surfaced \"We need somebody who\'ll ride the crap out of it, and we know he (Gobert) will.\"

Cadalora has tested the Modenas this year, he has also tested the Works Ducati but has apparently told friends he has little interest in racing.

Crafer therefore may get another shot.

We\'re looking and talking and we should know within a couple of days,\" Chuck Aksland said.
