Aaron Slight, carrying an illness, scored a pair of seventh placings at the latest round of the world superbike championship at Valencia in Spain.

The Castrol Honda star, continuing his comeback from brain surgery, was disappointed but philosophical.

\"I was up all night with a bad neck and it showed in that second race, I was tired and couldn\'t concentrate.\"

\"I just couldn\'t think straight and probably lost the chance of a better finish.\"

\"The machine felt fine and I was mixed up in a good four-way battle for much of the race.\"

\"I\'ll take two seventh places but I want to be back on that rostrum - that\'s my ambition at the moment,\" said the Kiwi-born expat racer.

Australian Troy Corser and Noriyuki Haga (japan) won a race each in this eighth round of the title chase.

Corser, with fifth in the second, continued his Aprilia\'s challenge to the championship lead of Slight\'s teammate Colin Edwards (USA).
