Troy Corser and his Aprilia claimed the provisional pole at the 2nd qualifying session at Valencia. The rest of the front row is made up of Ducatis, with Bayliss, Borja, and Bostrom.
Edwards, leading the world championship, was 5th, fastest, with Fujiwara, Ulm and Haga making up the 2nd row.
Edwards was happy and believes he can improve on his lap time in Saturday morning\'s qualifying session. The American rider said: \"We tried a lot of different settings today and I feel like we\'ve got through a lot of work. We ran out of time to use a qualifying tyre this afternoon so I know there\'s a few more tenths of a second to come yet. It\'s been hard work in the heat today but I\'m happy enough. The track doesn\'t feel quite the same as when we tested here in March. It\'s got a bit more of a shine to it now and doesn\'t have exactly the same grip as it did in March.\"
Aaron Slight finished in 17th place on his first visit to the Valencia track.. Slight missed the March testing dates due to his surgery.
Slight said: \"I\'ve been having injections in my neck today, it\'s been aching like mad but it does feel better after they\'ve given me the needles. I really like the Valencia track but I just need to get going and put in a few faster laps. \"I\'m starting tomorrow in 17th place so I\'ve definitely got something to improve on!\"
