Slight slips in Italy

Superbike hero Aaron Slight heads for Spain next weekend determined to make up for a miserably unlucky latest round of the world champs at Misano, Italy.

The comeback king was crashed out of race one by his Castrol Honda teammate Colin Edwards and slipped back through the field in another pileup in race two.

Australian Troy Corser won both races in this seventh round of the championship to close up on Edwards\' overall points lead.

Previously second points man Frankie Chili broke a collarbone in a spectacular 260 kph crash from his Suzuki in front of his home crowd, an incident triggered by Yamaha\'s Nori Haga who went down while pressing Corser for the second leg lead.

The mayhem ran Slight wide and he finished a distant ninth on his spare bike in front of a sun-kissed 57,500 crowd. The second race was reduced from 25 to 23 laps following a false start.
