WIMA Linen Runs

Posted: Wed 14 Jun 2000

Women\'s International Motorcycling Association (WIMA) is about to hold it\'s annual Linen Runs around the country. These are held in most areas in conjunction with the Women\'s Refuge Appeal Week, and all monies raised through donations and badge sales go to the Women\'s Refuge in that area.

This will be the tenth year that the annual charity ride has been held and organisers around the country are hoping for a big turn-out to commemorate the event.

The Women\'s Refuge\'s always need donations of household goods, bedding, furniture, babies and kids clothing as well as toys for families to start again with. If you have anything hiding in the closet that you no longer use and are looking for a good home, please give generously either on the day, or for bigger items contact your local WIMA Representative.

The Appeal week runs from the 25-31 July 2000 and charity runs will be held either to help kick things off, or as an item to end with. The Wellington area will be holding theirs on the 30th as will Hawkes Bay. For more information please contact your local WIMA area rep.
