A Ducati press release regarding Carl Fogarty, 4 times WSBK Champion, states that after visits from his specialist and a doctor representing the Ducati Team

Fogarty\'s convalescence is continuing in the best possible way and the British rider hopes to be able to get back on a Ducati 996 Factory bike as soon as possible to verify his condition. The fracture of the left humerus bone in Fogarty\'s upper arm, which was caused by his crash in the Australian WSBK round on May 23, is almost completely mended. He can now begin a more rigorous rehabilitation programme than the one he was on before in order to increase muscle strength. The programme, which will accompany electro-stimulation and swimming, also includes a special amino acids-based diet to speed up muscle recovery.

The most difficult problem that Fogarty has to overcome before he can race again is in fact the limited force that he manages to apply on his injured arm.

For this reason, the date scheduled for his return to racing, initially pencilled in for Brands Hatch on 6th August cannot, for the moment be confirmed. Fogarty\'s eventual return will depend on how his physique copes with the rehabilitation programme.

Fogarty, who spent last weekend at the World Ducati Weekend where he met thousands of his fans, declared: \"The specialists are pleased with the way things are going, but they told me that the fracture was a bad one and it\'ll need a long time to recover completely. I want to return to the track to win: for this reason I won\'t race again until I am 100% fit\".
