The sun finally shone on the Isle of Man, for the start of the last race in this year’s 2000TT. Conditions were near perfect, with everybody predicting records would be broken.

The Senior TT was won by David Jefferies on a Yamaha R1 in a record breaking time of 1h 51m 22.8s. In the process Jefferies also passed the magical 125mph mark in setting a new outright lap record of 125.69mph.

Kiwis were again high in the results.
Blair Degerholm first home on a Kawasaki ZXR7RR in 7th place, Bruce Anstey 14th on a Yamaha TZ250 (only 250cc in top 20),both Blair and Bruce are currently living in UK. Timaru’s John Hepburn 16th on a Yamaha R1
Feilding’s Nigel Healey 20th on a Yamaha R1
Hamilton’s Steve Bridge 25th on a Yamaha R1
Palmerston North’s Warren Turner 28th on a Yamaha R6
Christchurch’s Hugh Reynolds 31st on a Yamaha TZ250.

Shaun Harris who had been so successful earlier in the week retired at the end of lap 1 with his Yamaha only firing on three cylinders.

This brings to an end another TT week, with another first. Two riders with Triple TTs to their credit. Both Joey Dunlop and David Jefferies had won three TTs each.
