Isle of Yah Man Update

As 48 year old Irish \"Yah Man Joey Dunlop\" continues to dominate this years TT with his second win it has been confirmed Brett Richmond from Hamilton has won the 400 class

The winner of Monday\'s 400cc TT, Geoff McMullan, has been stripped of the title, and been fined after it was found his machine\'s cubic capacity, 599cc, was well above the limit for the class. He was also barred from racing for the rest of the week.
McMullan is the Irish champion. The news was announced this morning after a meeting of the international jury. The implications of the discovery leads to other questions, the main one being how McMullan managed to pass scrutineering to get to the start line with an engine so far above capacity.
The announcement moves Brett Richmond into the number one slot, with Brian Gardiner second and Robert Price third.

Craig Shirriffs John Shand Honda CBR400 broke down again at Saint Ninians crossroads at the top off Bray Hill not far from the start of the second lap as he lead on the road, As the race had been reduced to 3 laps Craig had been carrying extra fuel and had a plan which would have saved him pitting for fuel, He is very upset to have been robbed of a finish this time by a simple flat battery.

The roads are due to close at 9-15NZ time tonight for the start of the racing programme which is all dependent on the weather and in particular the mist and cloud which once again may delay things. The schedule at present is as advertised. Roads closed at 10-15,UK time with the ultra lightweights and singles away over 4 laps at 10-45. The Junior TT over 4 laps at 1-15 followed by the senior and production TT practice sessions followed by the Veteran Motorcycle parade from the Creg to the Grandstand. Meanwhile there has been criticism of the authorities for the tough line taken on qualifying, after the havoc caused to practice by the weather. TT enthusiast and former Radio 1 DJ Andy Kershaw, speaking of Tesco Radio TT this morning, has suggested more flexibility might have been employed.

Good Luck to Jason Easton, Higel Healey, Shaun Harris, John Hepburn and any other Kiwis in tonights races.
