HEPBURN RELAXED

Posted: Sun 04 Jun 2000

Saturday morning dawned wet, with low visibility on the Mountain. During the morning the rain stopped, the sun came out and the Formula One TT started on schedule at 14.00 IOM time.

The bad weather earlier in the week had left some wet patches, which were extremely slippery.

Timaru’s John Hepburn relaxed after a good practice week, set about achieving his best Formula One result to date. Finishing 12th on his Yamaha R1, the first privateer home.

Joey Dunlop at age 48, on the Honda VTRSP1, won the race, making this his 24th TT win.

Even with bad weather canceling several of his practice sessions, Hepburn is still very relaxed.
“Both of the bikes feel great and I’m the most relaxed, I have ever been. I’m looking forward to Wednesday and the Junior TT” says Hepburn.
