Kevin Archer (Te Kuiti, DRZ400, 2664 penalties) took out overall honours in the Expert class at this weekend\'s rounds of the Suzuki National Enduro Championships, held in the Akatarewa ranges near Wellington. Sean Clark (Tokoroa, RMX250, 2739) was runner up. Sean won day one, but a tumble on day two in the second terrain test lost him precious seconds and effectively ruined any chances of top spot. Steven Bird (Pahiatua, RM250, 2777) was third.

Kyle Daysh (Wellington, KX250) was easily the best intermediate over the weekend, finishing on 2897 penalties. Veteran Mark Haimes (Taupo, KDX200, 3395) was second, and Mark DeLatour (Turangi, WR400, 3939) just managed to pip Sean Stanbridge for the third spot.

There were only 3 DNF\'s from the second day of this event, when the Kapi-Mana committee, after a review of the first days riding, put their thinking caps on and came up with an improved course for day 2. They removed the worst of the bogs and added a Motocross Test (3 laps of the Moonshine track) at the end. The motocross test, held in bright sunshine, was a huge success with a large number enjoying the spectacle. Kevin Archer beat Paul Whibley by just 1 second, with Sean Clark another 7 seconds back.
