IOM TT Practice Starts Tomorrow

First practice at the Famous Isle of Man TT circuit kicks off tomorrow. Keep up to date with the action here at Silver Bullet.
Known New Zealanders entered include

Twenty-six year old CRAIG SHIRRIFFS, Palmerston North, New Zealand. Married to Joanne with two daughters Samantha and Amy, he has entered for the four lap Lightweight 400 Race on a Honda CBR400, the four lap Junior and six lap Senior Races on a Honda CBR600 and the three lap Production Race on a Honda CBR900 Fireblade, all sponsored by John Shand Racing. In last years T.T. Races he won the Newcomers Award for 34th place in the Junior and a bronze replica, and took another bronze for 30th in the Senior. He also finished 14th in the North West 200 Supersport 600 Race.
He has lapped the course at 114mph, and his ambition this year is to win the 400ce Race and finsih in the top 15 in the Junior.

Twenty-five year old JASON EASTON, of Foxton, New Zealand. A farmer, he has entered for the four lap Ultra-Lightweight on a Honda RS125. As a newcomer to the T.T. last year he finished 25th in Ultra-Lightweight and 53rd in the Junior.
His ambition this year is to finish in the top 15.

Thirty-two year old HUGH REYNOLDS, Christchurch. An engineer, he has entered for the four lap Lightweight 250 and six lap Senior Races on a Yamaha TZ250. In the 1997 T.T. Races he finished 22nd in the Lightweight Race and 27th in the Junior. In 1998 he took 28th place in the Senior on a 600ce machine, and last year won a bronze replica for 14th in the Lightweight Race.
He has lapped the course at 112mph, and his ambition this year is to finish in the top 10 in the Lightweight Race.

Twenty-nine year old BRETT RICHMOND, of Te Awamutu, New Zealand. He has entered for the four lap Lightweight 400 Race on a Honda CBR400, the four lap Junior and six lap Senior Races on a Honda CBR600 and the three lap Production Race on a Honda CBR900, all sponsored by John Shand Racing. In 1998 he finished 35th and second best newcomer in the Junior Race and last year won a bronze replica for 24th place in the Junior. He also won a finishers award in the Production Race.
He has lapped the course at 114mph, and his ambition is to win and gain a factory ride.

Twenty-seven year old NIGEL BISH,now living in, Australia. A business manager, he has entered for the four lap Lightweight 400 Race on a Honda RVF400 and the four lap Ultra-Lightweight Race on a Honda RS125R, both sponsored by Bill Smith Motors. He won the 1997 40Occ New Zealand Road Race Championship, finished fifth in the 1998 60Occ Sports Production Championship and last year took 13th place in the Open Sports Production Championship.
As a newcomer, his ambition is to score a couple

Thirty-one year old STEVE BRIDGE, Hamilton, New Zealand. An engineer, he has entered for the six lap T.T. Formula 1 and three lap Production Races on a Yamaha Rl, sponsored by Bill Smith Motors. He first rode in the T.T. last year and finished 36th in the Junior Race, winning a bronze replica and was second best newcomer, and he took 36th place in the Senior. At the North West 200 Superbike Race he finished 30th. This year so far he has finished third in the N.Z. Battle of the Twins Formula 1 Series and won the N.Z. Battle of the Twins Forgotten Era Championship.
He has lapped the course at 112.16mph, and his ambition this year is to win a bronze replica in the Formula 1 and a silver in the Production.

Thirty year old JANE PARRETT, Christchurch. A community development advisor, she has entered for the four Ultra-Lightweight Race on a Honda RS125. She made her debut in the T.T. last year, but a spill at the 32nd Milestone on the third lap ended her race.
She has lapped the course at 90.38mph, and her ambition this year is to improve on that and finish the race.

Thirty year old PAUL WILLIAMS, Dunedin. the four lap Lightweight 250 RS250, the four lap Ultra- Race on a Honda RS125 and the four lap Junior Race CBR600, all sponsored by Vimto Honda Britain. A road racer, he has entered for Race on a Vimto Honda Britain Lightweight on a Honda. In the 1998 T.T. he won the 40Occ Class of the Lightweight Race and finished 16th in the Junior. Last year he repeated his success when he won the Lightqweight 40Occ Race.

He has lapped the course at 112mph, and his ambitions to improve on previous lap times.CHRIS LAWRENCE, Taupo, New Zealand. A driver, he has entered for both of the three lap Sidecar Races on a Yamaha 600YZF outfit, with 33 year old laborer RICHARD LAWRENCE from Taupo as passenger. They were the 1994 New Zealand Champions and won 1995 Street Series Championship. In the T.T. Races they took 27th and 38th places in 1996 and finished 46th and 32nd last year.
They have lapped the course at 95.5mph, and their ambition this year is a top 25 finish and a lap at 100mph.

Also Known to have entered SHUAN HARRIS from New Plymouth and NIGEL HEALLY from Feilding on the Bill Smith motors Yamaha UK R6 and R1 no further details were availble from the TT press office today.
