Slight crashes superbike in Superpole Qualifying.

Aaron Slight has bounced back from a high-speed crash in Italy, but starts from the middle of the pack in tonight\'s round of the world superbike champs.

The Kiwi fell from his Castrol Honda on the infamous Parabolica curve at Monza during his flying superpole lap which determines grid positions. He was on line for the fastest time .03 faster at the time than all the other riders. The front wheel tucked under and down he went.

Texan Colin Edwards took pole with a 1m.46.227. His third successive Pole Position. There is a bonus of $200,000 if anyone can take six successive pole positions.

Slight (Having recorded no time) starts from the outside of the fourth row - 16th position in today\'s two race legs.

Starting from so far back it will be very difficult to make any real impression as the track is super fast.

\"I had no idea what lap time I was heading for,\" said the Masterton-born Slight,\"I just went into the Parabolica too fast and lost the front. \"I was trying too hard to be first - I should have just settled for second and a Castrol Honda 1-2 but I wanted to be first.\"
