Suzuki Road Race Seeding

Posted: Thu 16 Mar 2000

As you know we have, in addition to 7 other classes, A, B & C Grades in the Suzuki 2000 Road Race Series. We try to ensure that all riders are grouped with a lap time \"bracket\" so everyone can enjoy racing amongst those of a similar pace.

I have spent considerable time going through the lap times of the first round of the series, plus last years Round 5 of the Road Race Champs at Manfeild last December. As well the 1999 Suzuki Series was taken into account.

Attached is the seeding that should be used as a guideline for our next rounds. Obviously these are reviewed regularly, and if you have reason to question the seeding, please contact me as soon as possible.

Q. Where are the cut off points for A, B & C grading on lap times?
A. A Grade is better than 1min 21secs at Manfeild , or at Taupo better than 47 secs. B Grade is between 1min 21 & 1min 28 at Manfeild, and 47 secs to 51 secs at Taupo, while C Grade is beyond those times.
However, the top four placing\'s from B, C & Novice Grades last year, have to move up to the next higher grade for 2000.

Q. Hey but there are some \"big names\" in the A Grade, I would freak out to ride in the same race as them!
A. Don\'t freak, very few of the \"big names\" ride during the winter, maybe you\'ll have the playground to yourself!
