At the Honda 2000 release on the weekend there was a shock announcement. Who should ride the new VTR1000SP1 onto the stage but Jason McEwen. Jason will be ridng the SP1 for the Castrol Honda team this year in an effort to win the New Zealand Championship for Blue Wing.
Jason had been riding the SP1 at Pukekohe and was very pleased with the performance. When put in the spotlight, with Blue Wing Honda\'s General Manager Clive Cooper-smith, Jason\'s reply to the request for a New Zealand Championship win was a firm, \"No problem Clive\".
After spending the day at the track on the fuel-injected V-twin Jason could do nothing but sing it\'s praises, saying, \"This will be the bike to win the championship this year.\"
