Posted: Wed 15 Dec 1999

Motorcycling New Zealand (MNZ) supports all forms of motorcycle sport in New Zealand in a portfolio covering Road Racing, Motocross and other off road competition, Supercross, Speedway, Trail Riding, Trials, ATV Racing and Leisure Riding.

Formally the A.C.U (Auto Cycle Union), the organisation has grown to support over 5000 members in over 70 clubs throughout the country.

Through its affiliation to the International Governing Body, the F.I.M (Federation Internationale de Motocyclisme - Geneva), NZ motorcyclists are able to compete in events worldwide.

MNZ has a number of internationally recognised Champions, and we now seek to appoint a Champion G.M. to help restructure and redefine the future of the organisation.

The appointed person will be responsible for planning, direction and controlling the activities of the organisation in the achievements of its Mission Statements.

Reporting to the MNZ Executive through its President, key challenges and responsibilities will include:

* Management of the National Office
* Financial Management including setting of the Annual Budget and ensuring successful funding outcomes
* Development of winning relationships with key stakeholders including sponsors, the motorcycle trade and a strong volunteer base
* Establishment and maintenance of a Marketing and Sponsorship policy
* To increase membership through pro-active promotion of membership benefits
* An ability to think and act with a strong Strategic focus
* An energetic \'can-do\' attitude, with the ability to inspire and motivate others

This role provides a unique challenge in a high profile sport for the right candidate. Experience in management of a sports oriented organisation is desireable, but should not deter applicants with a strong management background in a service organisation.

A competitive remuneration package will be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applications close on Friday 7 January 2000.
