On Sunday 7th November at the first round of the Bel-Ray cross-country in Huntly, The Silver-Bullet Company Ltd had its first live trial of Bulletpoints. And what a success!
After smoothing the few initial hiccups that occurred in the Junior race, everything ran sweetly for the Seniors. And at the end of the Senior race the only thing holding up publication of results was the temperamental printer. Overall results were available, as well as results by class, within minutes of the race finishing.
Bulletpoints is a one-operator computer program, which allows event organisers to lap score a race event and calculate class, race, and event and series points with a keystroke. It also uploads results to the Internet as soon as a phone line can be reached.
Both The Silver-Bullet Company Ltd and Huntly Motorcycle Club received many positive comments about how professional the result publication was, and the manual lap scorers of the Huntly Club were extremely pleased that they didn’t have to spend the normal three hours calculating results by hand.
Bulletpoints will also be trialed at the Huntly 6 hour on November 27th, the remaining two rounds of the Bel-Ray cross-country and at the Cemetary Circuit on Boxing Day.
One of the main features of the Bulletpoints program is the reports it generates. Not only will it print dummy grid positions, a race programme, and a prize money sheet Bulletpoints will give you current series standings. Statistics are unlimited and include the slowest, fastest and average lap time, number of riders and points per club, number of riders per bike make, and average age of riders. All of these reports are available within minutes of the race end, and some are available during racing – ideal for commentators!
The Bulletpoints program forms part of a complete motorcycle Event Management System from The Silver-Bullet Company Ltd, with a transponder timing system and online entry system options also available shortly. Online Entry and the Transponder Timing System are currently being developed by The Silver-Bullet Company Ltd to provide a fully integrated, and efficient, Event Management System that is easy to use and within reach of all motorcycle clubs.
