Day 3 Results

NZ Champ Points after all 3 rounds

The final day of the NZ Moto-Trials champs was around the other side of the mountain, on Clements Farm, just out from Opunake

Who would have thought! A three-day trial in Taranaki and the mountain a spectacularly visible backdrop for each day.

Unlike day 2, which was buried in the grottos and ravines on Korito Road, the day 3 sections were all out in the open. There were 6 sections in the rocks and another 6 'hill-climb' sections on the other side of the river.

Clubman was hugely competitive with Jason Day, the winner from Days 1 & 2, dropping a point on the first lap. This gave Daniel Herbert the chance he'd been chasing all weekend and the 13 year old made sure of it, finishing the day with ZERO penalties.

Jason and Francis Sydenham finished on ONE penalty each and, as Francis finished before Jason, he took a well-deserved 2nd place for the day.

KTM 250 Freeride competitor Dougy Herbert was asked by one observer during the day.... "Is your bike different to the others?" "Yeh," said Dougy, "it's got a seat." "Oh," said the observer, looking around... "wow... you're right... the other bikes don't have seats!"
