Spectacular action is promised at Mystery Creek, Hamilton, in an event usually seen only overseas.

New Zealand’s top international motorcycle riders, who race all year round in Europe and America, have been engaged to ride inside the huge Mystery Creek Pavilion later in November, in an International Supercross Series.

General Manager of the Mystery Creek Events Centre, Barry Quayle says, “The new series of international events will bring excitement that New Zealander’s have only heard about or seen on television screens\".

World leading New Zealand riders the King Brothers and Josh Coppins will front up to Australia’s best, in races for one of the highest prize pools for such events in New Zealand. Barry Quayle says the event has taken more than two years in the planning. He said, “We looked to bring a series of exciting events, which would interest particularly young New Zealanders”.

Three events are planned, opening with a Trans-Tasman Test on Wednesday 24th November, followed by an Oceania Championship Road for International Medals on Friday 26th November and the search for Australiasia’s best rider in “King of the Creek” on Saturday 27th November 1999.

Hamilton City Council is a major supporter of the event, with Porter Hire and Freedom Airlines also providing assistance.

“Ticket prices have been pitched so as to make it an affordable and unique family experience”, says Barry Quayle.

All events are approved and permitted by FIM, the international motorcycling organisation.
