This Monday (Labour Day) we have a Working Bee in Maramarua Forest.
We will primarily be building the enduro X Track. This will consist of various obstacles we have designed and will finish off to complete the half finished course. We will be doubling the course. We have a digger, tractor and a truck coming to do the heavy work. We need helpers for the finer points like securing logs and the like, positioning tyres and a little finer spade work to tidy up the digger bits and pieces. We will also be doing some pruning of local tracks, some spraying, mowing of the grass, fencing and more plus we need to make one more bridge.
MATERIALS
We have most of the materials needed. If you have any materials (timber, wire, posts, etc) then we would appreciate it. Any machinery is welcome so we can move logs, gravel, dirt, etc is also helpful but not absolutely necessary. No 8 Wire is needed too.
BRING YOUR BIKE FOR A RIDE
Bring your bike along and have a ride in the afternoon - we will open up the tracks for you to have a play if you so desire. Kids can play on the kids track all day (the little paddock) but we will require volunteer supervision whilst the rest of us are working.
WISH LIST
On our wish list is a 20 foot container (damaged - doors don't have to work) so we can use it on the Enduro X course as an obstacle to climb over - obviously we would make a ramp up and down each side; concrete pipes of varying sizes; rocks of decent size but not sharp ones and of course tanalised timber of 3x2 4x2, 4x4, 6x2, etc. And we would like some truck tyres and tractor and digger tyres. No car tyres please. We have enough of them and in fact need to get rid of some.
LUNCH PROVIDED
As usual we will provide lunch in the form of Gourmet burgers, sausages, drinks, etc. So don't bring any food.
For catering purposes, could you please let us know by Sunday night via txt or email that you are coming so that we get enough food for everyone. Cheers
