Due to the promoter of the event unwilling to hold this New Zealand Championship event under Motorcycling New Zealand rules we unfortunately have had to cancel not only the Round of the Yamaha NZ Enduro Championship but also the Central Series and the Top Trail Rider series that were due to be held on the 20th July 2013 in Taupo.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause to riders but we are sure that you will understand given the current environment that we cannot expose competitors or officials to any un-necessary risk.
Commissioner, Shaun Prescott says whilst he is disappointed the round cannot be held it is important that all events are held to the MNZ standard and under MNZ rules therefore we were left with no choice to cancel the event, however everyone is looking forward to the final round to be held on September 21st in Tokoroa. Due to the cancellation of the Riverhead round earlier this year due to the drought conditions the Championship is now only made up of six rounds. Competitors will still drop a round as per the rules for the Championship.
