Castrol Honda 6 Hour Gears UP!

Posted: Fri 22 Oct 2010

The Castrol Honda Six Hour at Burts Farm, Mimiha Road, Matata is gearing up to accommodate for even more riders over the weekend of 5 March 2011. With the iconic Hawkes Bay Six Hour being cancelled, the 5th Annual Castrol Honda Six Hour is now the only 6 Hour X Country race available for the next 12 months. So if you want to topple Power Racing as the supreme 6 Hour specialists you need to be at Burts Farm in march.

Sponsors Castrol are real keen to work with the team and have again agreed to support the race with logistics and a huge amount of product for riders. This means everyone who stays on for the trophy presentations will receive a product prize. Excellent!

In addition, the local Burts Farm crew are putting in new track for the 6 Hour to give an even wider variety of terrain and to make it rideable in all weather conditions. With heaps of interest already mounting for the Castrol Honda 6 Hr, it is likely that the limit of 300 riders may be reached early on in the piece. So those who have not got their entry in by the end of January may miss out.

The Castrol Honda 6 Hour is unique in that it has three distinct classes: The R1 Class is the premium class for Expert riders with One bike being shared. This highlights the durability of a particular bike. The Solo (Ironman) class is one rider one bike as per usual. The extra class is the R2 Class. This is for two riders with two or more bikes. It means riders can use as many bikes as they like just so long as they continue circulating. Riders in the R2 Class cannot win overall. This is generally for Clubman type riders who want to team up and ride their own bikes. It means they don’t have to share their precious bikes. A bonus for most.
