The Green Meanie has struck again!
One week after Team Bay City Motorcycles rider Paul Burgess of Tauranga took out the 50+ class in the National Enduro series final with a victory in the sands of Woodhill Forest, Darryl August and Paul paired up as a combined Darryl August Motorcycles / Bay City Motorcycles Team and took Darryl’s Kawasaki KLX 450R to a convincing Super Vets 45+ win in a rough and grueling 2007 Hawkes Bay 6 hour.
The KLX proved to be the ideal machine for the job with the bottomless torque, smooth delivery and supple suspension proving ideal for the event. The pair took the KLX to 23rd overall in the 120 plus field, respectable for a couple of old (47 & 52 year old) campaigners.
