Three Places for Burgess Family at Akatarawa

The Burgess family scored three podium place finishes at the demanding Akatarawa Enduro, round 2 of the Yamaha National Enduro Series, with Reece on his KTM EXC-F 250 placing second to Sean Clarke in the Expert 4 Stroke Unders, Allan on his KTM 125 SX placing 3rd in the Expert 2 Stroke Unders and the old boy, Paul Burgess, winning the 50+ Veterans class on his trusty KTM 250 EXC.

It was a close call for the old guy when he drowned his bike in a deep hole in a stream 400 metres from the end of the enduro. It was a choice between taking time to dry out the bike or push down the stream to the end. The latter was the fastest (but hardest) option which was chosen and despite a grinding push down the stream he checked in only 12 minutes late.

The series results see Reece 3rd in class, Allan 4th in class (after an injury and DNF in Round 1) and Paul leading the 50+ class.

The family would like to thank the Kapi Mana club for an awesome ride (and thank the big fella in the sky that it didn't rain), and Makzgear in Tauranga for their support.
