Hamilton’s Andrew Stroud came out on top, in the brilliant sunshine at the YAMAHA "Battle of the Streets" at Paeroa today on his brace of Suzukis.

Although Stroud was on his game, he didn’t have it all his own way, with young Australian Chris Seaton winning the first Formula Paeroa race on his Yamaha R1, while Feilding’s Craig Shirriffs picked up the win in race one of the Formula Two class.

Foxton’s Jason Easton (Yamaha Tigcraft) and New Plymouth’s Jason Nairn shared the Formula Three honour, with the non-appearance of Taranaki’s Terry Fitzgerald.

The Lawrance brothers took two wins in the sidecar class on the 600cc Yamaha powered machine.

While in the Post Classic classes, Wellington’s Sean Donnelly dominated the Pre’82s, with Auckland’s Vince Sharp coming out on top of the Pre ‘72s
