Team Monster/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki rider, Ben Townley, will make his second return to the AMA MX national series at the Glen Helen Raceway, San Bernardino, CA. this weekend. The former MX2 World champion has had a tough rookie year after two injuries sidelined the Kiwi for the entire Super Cross season and most of the AMA Outdoor series.

The 21-year-old originally from Taupo NZ, now residing in Tallahassee Florida, is excited about making it back for the final Motocross Lites national. "I am really looking forward to getting back on the race track again. This year has been a tough one to handle, but I've got through it and I'm back to full health again. Riding is going really good. I’ve had three weeks on the bike and I'm gaining more speed and strength every time I'm out there. It will be good to finish off the season with a few races including Glen Helen and the ‘Des Nations’ before we go into the off season," commented an optimistic Townley.

The 60th edition of The Motocross of Nations to be held on the 23-24 September, will have Townley represent New Zealand in the MX2 class. ‘BT’ was the revelation of the 2005 event in Erneé when he was the only rider to keep Team USA’s Ricky Carmichael within his sights as he went on to win the Open class category. This historic event is also known as the ‘Olympics of Motocross’ and will see Townley team up with fellow Kiwis, Josh Coppins(MX1) and Cody Cooper(Open). Team Zealand narrowly missed out on a podium spot last year in France, however the playing fields will be open again as the event moves to Matterly Basin on English soil.
