Aprilia
have announced a new model, the SL 1000. Derived from the
RSV 1000 superbike, the new bike is lighter due to only having a half fairing. The bike is
aimed at the less extreme sports bike market than the race replica RSV. It will be competing
with the likes of the Ducati 900ss and Honda VTR1000.
The bike will be officially launched at the 57th E.I.C.M.A. show in Milan on September 15-20.
It\'s a very nice looking bike, but it is definitely the most conservatively designed bike they\'ve released to date. A far cry from the
Tuareg with it\'s Benneton designed colours and the Moto 6.5 designed by french furniture designer phillipe Stark. Hopefully, it will sell really
well.
