Round 5 - Suzuki Central Enduro Series

On Sunday the Manawatu-Orion MCC hosted round 5 of the Suzuki Central Enduro Series at Santoft Forest, near Bulls.

Paul Whibley from Pahiatua riding a Co-op Honda CR250 won the 5th round of the Suzuki Central Enduro Series, and the Experts Class by a 54 second margin from another Wairarapa rider, Ross Bird from Eketahuna (Carian Castrol Honda XR400) with a similar margin back to Brett Crighton on a Honda CR500.

42 enduro & more than 100 trail riders attacked the 120 km challenging forest with \"moving\" trees and sandy loam. An excellent event well laid out for every one.

Three ladies started & finished their modified course, with Porirua\'s Lynnda Barry riding a Yamaha TT225 winning the class from Palmerston North women Sarah Orpet ( Honda XR200) & Jo Hislop (Kawasaki KX80).

On overall the time the Veterans (over 35 years) class was very competitive, with the win going to Eketahuna\'s Jock McLauchlan from Ashhurst\'s Murray Searle both on Yamaha YZ400F, well ahead of Peter Kempthorne from Taupo riding a Suzuki RMX250.
