Spectro MX This Weekend

Spectro Series 2006 kick off this weekend.

Sunday 7th May and the Manawatu Orion Motorcycle Club is hosting Round One of the popular Spectro Series on Hurleys Property, Dunnolly Rd, Waituna West. The track is a Natural Terrain track with excellent viewing for the public. Racing will commence approximately 10am.

This Series is steeped in history and over the many years spectators have witnessed some exciting and close competitive racing.

This Series attracts many of the regions top riders in all classes, some of whom are current & past National Champions & New Zealand Grand Prix (Woodville) Title Holders. The exciting feature is that we are sure to see our future champions riding at this Event as well. The Prize Package for 2006 is projected to reach $19,000.00 depending on Rider entries.

A special feature of this Series is a promotion with VEE RUBBER tyres – run Vee Rubber tyres at all rounds and you could be in to win a years’ supply of Vee Rubbers tyres (Vee Rubber tyres VRM140 or 200 – based on 10 tyres).

The Series continues on 18th June hosted by the Kapi-Mana M/C Club (MX Track), 9th July hosted by the Gold Coast M/C Club (MX Track) and finally 13th August hosted by the Martinborough Club (Natural Terrain).

All classes are being catered for in the Series, including A, B, & C Grades, Vets, Juniors, Minis and Unlicensed. MNZ Day Licences are available. Sign On 7.30am sharp.

The Manawatu Orion Motorcycle Club looks forward to welcoming all the visitors to the region for this event. NZ’s top Motocross Commentator Neil Ritchie will be at this round.

Neil has been actively involved in this Series for many years. Neil Ritchie comments -

“The Spectro Series is the highest profile Motocross event in the Manawatu with the exception of course of the New Zealand Grand Prix at Woodville. The combination of high level Senior & Junior competitors combined in one days’ racing is special.”
