During the last round of the World 250cc Motocross Championships at Jinin, Czech Republic on 11 July, Motueka factory Winfield Suzuki team rider fell ill with a fever and could only manage 19th position in qualifing. Up to Moto 1 he had been vomiting even water so decided to sit out racing and concentrate on returning to race readiness for the next round in Poland on August 1st.
