Subway Yamaha rider Darryll King made his comeback over the weekend after a knee injury sustained back in August.

Multi-time Champion Darryll King used the opening round of the National Enduro Championship in Tokoroa over the weekend as his comeback race before preparing for his assault on the Australian Motocross Championship starting in April.

King even won the E1 class on the 2006 Yamaha YZ 250F heading off Australian Rookie Geoff Braico for the overall victory in his class.

“I was amazed how good I felt on the bike, I really took it easy in the first 3 special tests and then went for it on the final lap. I am going to ride the YZ250FV in this weekends New Zealand Motocross Grand Prix along with the new YZ450FV. It will be a big day for me, however I have my fitness pretty close to 100% and hopefully I can have a great day. King said.

Damien King rode his Subway Yamaha YZ450F to third overall and third in the E2 class behind brother Shayne King and Chris Birch. The younger King even won the final test for the day beating brother Shayne by 3 seconds.

Damien will ride the new Subway Yamaha YZ450FV in this weekends NZ Motocross Grand Prix at Woodville near Palmerston North.

The Subway Yamaha motocross team will attend two Subway store promotions on Saturday. The first one at Waiouru at 12 Noon and the 2nd at Palmerston North at 3.30pm.

The New Zealand Supercross final round was also held on the same day in Tokoroa. Australian Riders Cameron Taylor and Robbie Marshall showed the Kiwi riders how to race supercross with Taylor winning the 125cc class (Pro Lites).

Australian Junior rider Luke George made his Senior debut and ended the night in tenth position overall.

Subway Yamaha Mason Phillips ended up in third place overall in the New Zealand Supercross 250cc class overall standings.

With compliments;
