Dates Set for 2006 NZ Supercross

Posted: Sat 26 Nov 2005

Motorcycling NZ has confirmed the dates and venues for the 2006 NZ Supercross Championship. This year there will be three rounds two of them in Motueka.

Round One, 07 January 2006 – Motueka
Round Two 08 January 2006 – Motueka
Round Three 21 January 2005 – Tokoroa (night)

Round One is to also incorporate the South Island Supercross Championship.

The Motueka track- known as “The Rat Track” is the home of NZ Motocross star Josh Coppins. Coppins competed and won the round on his home track this year prior to heading to Europe where he came second in the World MX1 Championship.

Unlike Motocross, the Supercross series includes all age groups. As well as being spectator friendly, the series gives a chance for the younger riders to race at the same meeting as their Senior counter-parts.
