At the eighth round of the '05 World Enduro Championship, staged in Serres (Greece), Bartosz Oblucki claimed his first double podium finish of the season. The Polish Ufo Corse Yamaha rider claimed the runner-up spot on day one after having pushed Ivan Cervantes (KTM) hard during the opening two laps of the event. Oblucki finished third on the second day, while Cervantes won the class both days and wrapped up the Enduro 1 World Championship.

Spain's Ivan Cervantes repeated his class topping performance on the first day of the event on Sunday. Cervantes, 23, became the first ever Spaniard to claim a world enduro championship title. With his confidence running high after his Enduro 1 class victory at the International Six Days Enduro in Slovakia, Oblucki rode hard all weekend and put Cervantes under pressure on day one. Bartosz rode his WR250F to second in the end, finishing 14 seconds ahead of Italian Alessandro Belometti (KTM) who claimed third.

With Cervantes winning again on day two Belometti and Oblucki reversed their finishing positions from the first day with the Italian Belometti claiming the runner-up spot. Separated by just six seconds Belometti and Oblucki battled hard all day with Oblucki rounding off the podium finishers to claim his first double podium finish of the season. Frenchman Marc Germain (Yamaha Moto France) had difficulties to find a good pace on the hard and dusty Greek trails. However Germain remains second in the Enduro 1 standings, in spite of losing ten points to third placed Alessandro Belometti. His strong Greek results have allowed Oblucki to climb up to sixth in standings, while young Maurizio Micheluz hangs on to ninth.

Bartosz Oblucki (UFO Corse Yamaha) Day 1: Third, Day 2: third "The first day was a really good day for me because after two laps I was only four seconds behind Ivan Cervantes. I also won the first three extreme tests, which I was really happy with. Finishing second at the end of the day was great. Day two was also good but Cervantes was much faster than he was on day one. I felt really good on the bike again and it was really close between myself and Alessandro Belometti. I also had Simone Albergoni very close behind me and we were just a few seconds apart going into the final test of the race. I managed to beat him on that final test and in doing so I finished in third. After such a disappointing season to finish on the podium on both days, having finished on the podium once in Finland and also winning the Enduro 1 class at the ISDE, it feels great. I feel that I am riding like I was last season again, which is good. "
