Coppins leads British champs with one round to go.

CAS Honda’s, Josh Coppins, has taken a full house of points today at the penultimate round of the British MX championship held at Skelder Bank. Coppins has won the last four consecutive rounds with maximum points which now puts the Kiwi up on the leader board and 3 points ahead of his fellow Honda rider, James Noble.

Both starts of the MX1 races were without incidents and had to be restarted. Coppins was not deterred by the interruptions and succeeded in winning both motos convincingly although in the first moto the Kiwi had to come from far behind to take the victory.

“I missed a gear when they restarted the first heat and I had to work my way through the pack. I was into third within a few laps and then managed to pass Cooper and Noble to take the win. I was much happier with my riding in the second race and managed to get to the front pretty soon to win by 30 seconds – my speed was much better. I’ve got the red plate now and with one round to go it’s going to be an exciting final,” smiled Coppins.

The final round will be held at the GP circuit of Matchams Park on the 9th of October.
