Perkins to Contest Women’s Open Class

Castrol Honda Red Rider, Tauranga’s Mary Perkins, will contest round one of the Women’s Open Motocross Championship, this weekend at the SsangYong New Zealand Motocross Championship in Waimate District, just south of Timaru.

Perkins will ride a Honda CRF250R in the Women’s Open class. The women only contest two of the four round series, Round Two at Timaru this weekend and Round Four at Rotorua on November 20.

In Round one at Taupo, Perkins competed with the boys in the newly formed MNZ Cup class and will again do so at Round Three at New Plymouth.

Perkins, like her teammates Peter Broxholme and Cody Cooper, has been competing in Australia. Cooper and Broxholme have been honing their skills in the Australian Supercross Championship, while Perkins has been competing in the Xtreme Games.
