New Epic Event

Epic Events is very excited to announce a new trail ride in a new forest just 20 minutes out of Taupo.

After targeting the forest and negotiating with the Land Manager, Epic Events secured the new venue for NZ trail riders to enjoy.

The forest is perfect for trail riding mainly because it is centrally located in the North Island, has volcanic pumice soil providing mega traction and is made up of rolling hills making for roller coaster type trails.

The ride called Trail Blazer will be held Sunday 14 August 2005. Trail Blazer was first held in a forest near Reporoa in 2002 and 2003, then moved to the Tatua forest near Mokai in 2004. The new improved venue is Te Toke Road, Tahorakuri Forest (South East corner), State Highway 5, signposted off State Highway 5.

The base has a huge grass area for parking and for kid’s tracks in full view of the pits.

There will be two 20 km trails, a separate 5km novice trail, a mini forest trail and a mini grass track. Having two 20 km trails will minimise congestion on the tracks. The tracks will be made with a bulldozer so they will be wide, smooth and flowing… bring it on.

Riders enter on day. There will be no pre entry. Riders can sign on any time from 8:30am. The tracks will be open 9:30am-3:00pm.

Trail Blazer is suitable for 2 and 4 wheelers as the tracks are wide.

Fire extinguishers, Boots, Helmets and obeying all of the Epic Events Trail Ride Critical rules will be compulsory.
