The Silk Riders Are In Trouble:

You may have read or heard that:
A prominent New Zealand economist is under house arrest in Iran. Gareth Morgan and a group of fellow Kiwi bikers that includes Brendan Keogh are in Iran as part of an effort to ride the old Silk Road from Italy to China but they have had their passport seized by authorities in a small town on the Caspian Sea.

Mr Morgan says local police have told them their visas are not in order and that their 650cc motorbikes are not allowed in Iran.

He says the group is being held in a rat-infested hotel and have been told they cannot leave until authorities have checked out who they are.
