STROUD AIMS TO GO THE DISTANCE:

New Zealand’s top current international motorcycle road racer, Andrew Stroud, is aiming to re-claim the national endurance championship crown at the 300K NZ Endurance Championships at PUKEKOHE MAY 7 and 8

Stroud shared the title with fellow Suzuki rider Brian Bernard in 2001, the last year the long distance event was run as a national championship, and is now preparing a team entry for the May 8th two-and-a-half hour race at Pukekohe Park partnered with co-rider Ray Clee.

Stroud’s last outing on his Suzuki GSXR1000K4 was at the April 3rd Philip Island World Superbike round where he placed a creditable 12th overall finishing only one place behind current World Superbike Champion James Toseland on the factory Ducati, a team that operates on a fifteen million dollar budget.

Over thirty teams are expected to be on the Superbike and Sports Production race card, run under the control of the Auckland Motorcycle Club for the long distance 300 kilometer event. Confirmed are Superbike racers, Dean Fulton and Jared Love pairing up on a Honda CBR1000R, and the Sports Production pairing of Brian Bernard and Hayden Fitzgerald on a Suzuki GSXR600K4. Kawasaki and Yamaha are also expected to enter teams to chase the long distance title.
