New Zealand motocross rider James Robinson, 21 of Palmerston North has taken out the overall win of the prestigous Asian Smokin’ Wheels event. James rode the 3 hour endurance event in hot tropical conditions on the Island of Guam up against top riders from all over Asia including Japan, Philippines, Indonesia and America. James’ report to his sponsors went as follows:

Robinson Wins Asian Smokin’ Wheels:

It's Monday morning here on Guam and I am about to get all my gear ready to fly to Hong Kong to do motocross coaching for 3 weeks. During this period I will also get the opportunity in race in China. My return to Guam will be via the Philippines to race Round 1 of the Camel Super cross.

Yesterday I raced in the prestigous annual motocross event in Guam called, 2005 Guam Miller Lite Smokin’ Wheels endurance event. A three hour Motocross which I won, plus I was the only one to Iron Man the whole race. The track was very dusty and rocky and the race conditions very hot and humid. I got one flat rear tire half way through the race but was able to keep my Yamaha up in front the whole race.

I would like to thank all the people that help me at the event and also Frank Rios, who gave me his new bike to race the three hour.

I will be in contact while I am over in Hong Kong and give you some updates on how everything is going.

Thanks again for all your support,

James Robinson
