It has been another memorable IoM for New Zealand topped off with some very creditable results in the Senior TT. Blair Degerholm from Wellington was 8th on his W&C Kawasaki 840, Bruce Anstey from the Kapiti Coast was 24th on his Yamaha TZ250J, Craig Shirriffs (Yamaha 600 R6) riding the same bike with the same tyres as he finished 34th in the earlier 4 lap Junior TT, finished a very creditable 30th in the 6 lap TT, with a fastest lap of over 115mph & an average of over 112 mph, including 2 refuelling pit stops. John Hepburn from Timaru was in 32nd place, and Feildings Nigel Healey finished 34th. Both rode Yamaha 600 R6\'s. At 36th, Hamilton\'s Steve Bridge (Yamaha R6) was just seconds away from getting a second Bronze replica, while Paul McQuilkin & Brett Richmond riding Shand Honda CBR600\'s were 40th & 43rd respectively.

Craig Shirriffswas awarded fastest Junior newcomer, fastest Senior newcomer and fastest overall newcomer along with 2 bronze medals, an outstanding effort with laps in excess of 114mph recorded. 109.56 mph including standing starts and pit stops

Mike Kingwas awarded third fastest junior newcomer 106.06mph

The week was marred by several serious accidents, including the death of kiwi Stuart Murdock and a serious off by Mike King at Kerrowmoar. Apparently Mike is now out of the ICU and will be back in NZ soon.
