New Zealand Superbike Champion Takes on the Aussies:

Whakatane’s Tony Rees can now concentrate on his campaign for the Australian Superbike Championship after being advised by Motorcycling New Zealand today, that his New Zealand title had been confirmed.
Rees had been waiting for the result of an appeal and had flown out to round one of the Australian Superbike Championship this weekend at Phillips Island, not knowing the result.
"The news is fantastic, we can now get on with the job at hand," said Rees from Australia this morning.

The entry list for the Australian championship is a who’s who of racing in Australia, along with several New Zealanders. Rees will be racing under the "BikeBiz" banner, similarly to his 2002 campaign. His championship winning Yamaha R1 will race in it’s New Zealand blue livery.

Practice begins tomorrow morning and Rees will be racing hard for a pole position.

With confirmation of his New Zealand title, Rees is now fired up to make it a Trans-Tasman double.
