Nick Reader, MNZ High Performance Programme Manager wrote that:
Motorcycling NZ is not all about race licences and event permits, it is also working hard to make sure that Kiwi motorcyclists remain at the top of the world.
In July 2003, MNZ started a High Performance Programme consisting of 12 riders from Motocross, Enduro, Road racing and Trials. The squad has now been reduced to just 5 riders who receive all the focus and funding.
The riders are Katherine Prumm and Scott Columb – Motocross, Hayden Fitzgerald and Dominic Jones – Road racing and Paul Whibley – Enduro.
