With the 2005 Maxxis Australian Motocross Championship to commence at the Victorian township of Wonthaggi on Sunday, March 20 the first round of the NSW MX Champs would be regarded as an ideal warm up.
Perfect weather greeted competitors at the opening round of the New South Wales Motocross Championships at the historic South Sydney town of Appin on the weekend.
Luke Burkhart has found the form he had always promised in the 2004/05 season and last weekend he travelled to Appin, NSW to contest the Pro Lite class.
Daniel McCoy on the all-new 250SXF won the opening Pro Lite moto and heading off Burkhart (Shift Motul Suzuki RM-Z250). In the next two motos though the young Kiwi struck back to take the overall win with Motorex KTM's Daniel McCoy second and Ryan Marmont third.
