\"[IanMost people were in T-shirts for the start of the Junior TT at the Isle of Man - 4 laps over the famous Mountain circuit - despite it being a bit windy on top.

Jim Moodie won the race on his Honda CBR600 despite loosing the clutch in the first lap and getting fuel in his eyes at the pitstop. In line for a silver medal (within 5% of the first place finisher) were Blair Degerholm (former Wellingtonian) in 10th place, Ian Lougher (pictured, in NZ earlier last season) 11th, & John Hepburn (16th). Bronze medalists (within 10% of first place finisher) included Brett Richmond (24th,Waikato), Craig Shirriffs (34th), Steve Bridge (36th), Nigel Healey (37th), and Paul McQuilken (41st).

Other finishers included Michael King (46th), Jason Easton (53rd), Nick Pedley (54th), Mark Perry (59th), Doug Fairbrother (60th), and Brent Curtis (62nd).

Craig Shirriffs from Palmerston North looks set to win the \"Newcomers Award\" with 34th place overall. He said an enormous \"tank slapper\" down Bray Hill was exciting, as the effect was to push the brake pads back, necesitating plenty of \"pumping\" for the next corner.

Earlier in the day Ian Lougher had won the ultra-lightweight class on his Honda RS125 with John Hepburn earning a bronze for 17th place and Jason Easton just missing out by 2 seconds on a bronze.
