Day 2 in Italy:

Firstly a revamp of Day 1; Belometti was on a 125 not a 250 as I stated yesterday.

Day 2 is clear and sunny but there is a strong cold wind. Enduro 1 was first away so by the time the 450's were travelling the special stages, big ruts had formed and consequently slower speeds were recorded by the riders starting later. Albergoni of Italy led the field on day 2 with Merriman chasing him on all the special stages. Merriman posted some good times on the last two stages of the day but was still not able to close the 1.28 second gap. Merriman had to be content with 2nd place for the day.

1 Albergoni 250 4st Honda
2 Merriman 450 Yam
3 Belometti 125 KTM

Overall provisional results of Italian Champs after 2 days (I am unsure of the points system this year but am assuming it is 25,22,20,18 - so this could be changed)

Albergoni 45
Belometti 45
Merriman 44

Upcoming events
Rounds 3 & 4 Italian champs at San Remo - 12/13th March.
World Enduro Championsip, round one, Spain - 2/3 April.

Regards Anita.
